This organisation is dedicated to empowering women through various kinds of skills based training programmes by creating job opportunities for women and also the sustainable development of the rural communities in which they live.
The RNWH aims to make a positive contribution to women (some with disabilities) who are facing difficulties in rural, often remote and impoverished, communities allowing them by earning a fair wage allowing self-dependance and also financial independence. They are then able to clothe and feed themselves and their families and educate their children.
The women learn skills such as weaving, dyeing, material cutting, sewing, and indeed business management, creating bags, scarves, pashminas, pyjamas and dressing gowns. In order to do this, they also learn practical skills such as arithmetics and writing.
Weaving, spinning and dyeing are some of the oldest crafts learned and passed down through generations in Nepal. We are always amazed and humbled by these skills and techniques that are still in use today.
